Makara Sankranti is a defining moment in the Indian Calendar. It marks the beginning of the Uttarayana or the Northward journey of the Sun. It is the time when the Sun leaves the Dhanu Rashi (Sagittarius) and enters Makar Rashi (Capricorn). It is a very auspicious juncture in time. So much so that it finds mention in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita also.

अग्निर्ज्योतिरहः शुक्लः षण्मासा उत्तरायणम्।

This special Aradhana is dedicated to Soorya, the symbol of Life and Prana. The sessions will consist of different yogic practices (including pranayama and meditation), chants (dedicated to the Soorya) and satsang.
